Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2025  ·  Learning Publics LLC

Learning Publics LLC ("LEAP", "we", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we safeguard it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, payment details, and any profile information you submit. We also automatically collect usage data such as pages visited, courses accessed, session duration, device type, and IP address. If you connect a third-party account (e.g., Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to provide and personalise the LEAP platform, process payments, send transactional emails (receipts, session reminders), improve our content recommendations, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects without your consent.

3. Data Sharing

We share your data with third-party service providers strictly necessary for operating the platform, including Supabase (database), Paystack and Stripe (payments), and email delivery providers. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

4. Cookies and Tracking

LEAP uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyse platform usage. Essential cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. You may opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings or our cookie preference centre.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, with infrastructure in secure data centres. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) and access controls to protect your information. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your LEAP account.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / NDPR)

Under the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; withdraw consent at any time; object to or restrict certain processing; and request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email leap@learningpublics.com.

7. Children's Privacy

LEAP is not directed at children under 13 years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will delete their account and associated data promptly. Users between 13 and 18 should use LEAP only with parental or guardian consent.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of LEAP after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Contact Us

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact our data team at leap@learningpublics.com. For formal data subject requests, include "Data Request" in your subject line and provide enough information to verify your identity.
